What if a phone has no NFC?

Every Dropward object also carries a QR code, so it works two ways on almost any modern phone.

• Tap it (NFC): hold a phone near the object and your profile opens on its own. This works on most recent iPhones and Android phones.
• Scan the QR code: if a phone has no NFC or it is switched off, point the camera at the code and the same profile opens.

A responder does not need to know which method to use: tapping and scanning both lead to your emergency profile, and the QR code is printed large enough to be read quickly, even in poor light.
