What to put (and not put) on your profile

A good emergency profile is short and useful. The test for each item: would it change how a responder treats you, or who they call?

Worth putting on:

  • Blood type, and severe allergies (especially to medications)
  • Conditions that matter in an emergency (for example diabetes, epilepsy, a heart condition)
  • Medications you take, and any implant or device
  • One or two emergency contacts, with their relationship to you

Better left off:

  • Your home address or full medical history
  • Passwords, ID numbers, or anything sensitive that does not help in an emergency

Your profile is public to anyone holding your Dropward, so you stay in control: put what helps, keep the rest private.
